Dr. Michel Pop has been performing laser vision correction since 1992 and cataract surgery since 1980.
He completed his 10 years of medical and specialist training in Canada and the United States. His extensive experience and astute clinical observations have led him to perfect a number of surgical techniques and improve the success of their outcomes.
He has also published extensively in many scientific and medical journals. Dr. Pop does not favour a “one-size-fits-all” approach with his patients, but rather seeks out the best solution for each individual . Not all vision problems can be corrected by laser, so Cliniques Michel Pop offer alternative treatments that provide excellent results, such as intraocular lens implants.
With his extensive expertise, Dr. Pop is able to recommend the procedure that is best suited to each patient’s needs.
Alain Grégoire, M.D.
Ophthalmologist
Dr. Alain Grégoire graduated in medicine from Université Laval in 1994, where he completed his residency in ophthalmology in 1999. Dr. Grégoire is a member of several Canadian and American organizations.
Dr. Grégoire has more than 20 years of experience in Canada and the United States and founded OculoVision in 2006. He joined Cliniques Michel Pop in January 2022. With the integration of three refractive clinics to his repertoire, he has extensive refractive experience which is very useful in a highly growing sector.
Dr. Grégoire is known for caring about his patients’ well-being and for being very dedicated to them. He has performed several thousand surgeries. Dr. Grégoire is an undisputed leader in his field and provides exceptional aftercare to his patients, staying abreast of leading technologies by honing his skills around the world. He is both a refractive cataract and clear lens surgery pioneer, thus making him a most seasoned surgeon in anything related to vision correction.
Daniel Belliveau, M.D.
Ophthalmologist
Graduate from the Université de Montréal in Medicine, Dr. Daniel Belliveau completed his ophthalmology residency at the Université de Sherbrooke in 1996.
With almost 30 years’ experience in ophthalmology, Dr. Belliveau specializes in refractive surgery, including cataract surgery. He has obtained medical licenses in almost all Eastern Canadian provinces (Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador) and is a member of most of the associations related to his specialty, both in Canada and the United States.
He has been teaching his specialty for over 20 years at Dalhousie University and has received numerous awards (Departmental Clinical Teacher of the Year 2014, Departmental Surgical Teacher of the Year 2011 and 2015.
He joined the Cliniques Michel Pop team in 2023 as a specialist surgeon.
Dr. Daniel Belliveau is bilingual, patient-oriented, fast and efficient, with a satisfaction rate of 99%. He prides himself on offering a skilled and empathetic approach to patient care, with over 50,000 surgeries in his career.
Christian Perreault, M.D.
Ophthalmologist
Doctor Christian Perreault joined the Cliniques Michel Pop’s Montreal team in 2006.
Dr. Perreault is actively involved in AMOQ (Association des médecins ophtalmologistes du Québec) as an administrator.
Throughout his hospital and private practice career, he has acquired in-depth experience in various areas of ophthalmology, including cataract surgery, which he has been performing since 1988. In 1993, he added laser surgery to his field of expertise, and in 2002, he began working with multifocal lenses.
He provides his patients attentive, extremely thorough care and takes the time to explain everything they need to know.

Ophtalmic Assistant
Emma Santoriello has been a nurse since 1995. Through her strengths and knowledge, she offers high quality ophthalmic care and procedures tailored to the patients’ needs by combining innovation, technology, and skill.
She is also involved in improving the quality of care to ensure the excellence of services offered at the Michel Pop Clinics. Her alent for establishing a trusting relationship with the patient and her colleagues allows her to assume a primary management role while staying close to the patient. She conveys her passion for her craft through her kindness, attentive listening, and professionalism.
Emma holds a bachelor’s degree, a technical degree in Nursing and is a Certified Ophtalmic Assistant. She studied at the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel Organization and is a member in good standing of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec and Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada.
