LASER VISION CORRECTION WITH CUSTOMIZED PRK
A surface treatment for thin or irregular corneas
Some corneas are too thin or irregular to be treated with Lasik. In such cases, customized PRK (photorefractive keratectomy) can prove an excellent solution for light to moderate myopia. No corneal incision is necessary: Dr. Pop simply removes the thin film of cells that cover the surface of the eye and performs the laser vision correction. Although the recovery period for this procedure is a little longer — generally four to seven days — the results are as good as with Lasik.
