Laser vitreolysis is a non-invasive, pain-free treatment that eliminates the visual disturbance caused by floaters. The approach involves applying laser pulses to the floaters and vitreous opacities to turn them into gas. The process allows the floater to be either removed entirely or reduced to a size that no longer hampers vision.
Only an eye exam will enable us to make a diagnosis and determine whether you are a candidate for this treatment. Please contact us to schedule a consultation.
During your meeting with Dr Pop, he will examine you and determine if you can benefit from treatment using the vitreolysis and eliminate floaters that hinder your vision.
Prior to the procedure, the ophthalmologist will administer anesthetic eye drops and place a contact lens on your eye. The nanosecond laser pulses are then applied. The treatment lasts between 20 and 60 minutes, and in most cases a single session is all that’s needed. However, based on the number and size of the floaters, two and sometimes three treatment sessions may be recommended in order to achieve the desired result.
